About Merit and Muscle Movers
We’re a Tampa Bay moving company that started as a crew of college athletes at the University of South Florida. Since then we’ve completed more than 800 moves, added crew leads with years of professional moving behind them, and grown to five locations from Wesley Chapel down to Plant City.
A student crew that took the heavy jobs
The first crews were USF students: former athletes and team captains who were used to showing up on time and working as a unit. Early on, a lot of our work came from jobs other movers turned down, like gun safes going into garages, pianos on second floors, and moves booked the night before.
The biggest of those was a 2,500-pound aquarium that had to come out with cranes. Jobs like that are still a large part of what we do, and they’re why a lot of customers find us.
Who shows up at your door
A master mover in charge
Every crew is led by a mover with at least five years of professional experience. They walk the home, plan the load and handle the pieces that matter most.
College-athlete movers
Current and former college athletes, background-checked and trained by us on wrapping, carrying and loading before their first job.
No subcontractors
We don’t hand jobs off to other companies or day labor. The crew we send is our crew.
