High-rise moves in the Channel District
Almost everything here is a tower: older condo buildings from the mid-2000s, newer apartment buildings along Channelside Drive, and the Water Street towers between the Channel District and downtown. They all handle moves roughly the same way. You reserve a freight elevator for a set window, the movers send a certificate of insurance ahead of time, and the truck uses a specific loading dock or garage entrance.
The elevator window is the whole day. If it’s four hours, everything has to go up in four hours, so we size the crew to fit the window, not the other way around.
Check the arena calendar first
Benchmark International Arena, the convention center and the Florida Aquarium all sit in this part of downtown. On a Lightning game or concert night, the roads around Channelside Drive and Meridian back up in the afternoon, and garage entrances get crowded. Before you book your elevator, look at the event calendar and pick a morning or a day with nothing scheduled.

- Ask for the garage height clearance. Some docks can’t fit a full-size box truck.
