Wesley Chapel piano moving

Piano Movers in Wesley Chapel

Most pianos we move out here sit in a front formal room on tile, or upstairs in a bonus room of a two-story house. Either way, we look at the staircase, the floors and the HOA rules before we give you a price.

Two-story homes

Getting a piano out of an upstairs bonus room

This is the most common hard piano job we see in Wesley Chapel. The stairs in newer two-story homes are usually wide enough, but they often turn at a landing halfway down, and that landing decides how the piano comes out.

An upright goes down strapped to a board, with movers below taking the weight and one above controlling it with a strap. A grand comes apart first: lid, lyre and legs off, then the body is set on its side on the board and carried down the same way. The rail gets wrapped and runners go down every step before anything moves.

If you can, measure the landing (both directions) and the narrowest point of the stairwell and send it with your quote request. It saves a site visit.

New construction

Moving a piano into a new build

If you’re closing on a new home in Epperson, Union Park, Wiregrass Ranch or Angeline, the piano shouldn’t be the first thing through the door.

Bring it in last

Fresh drywall, paint and slab carry a lot of moisture for the first few weeks. Let the AC run in the house for a while before the piano moves in, and hold off on tuning until it has settled.

Protect the new floors

Piano casters dent luxury vinyl plank and new hardwood. Have caster cups or felt pads ready for where it will stand. We bring runners for the path in.

Closing slipped?

Don’t park the piano in the garage while you wait. If the date moves, it needs climate-controlled storage until the house is ready.

You get a guaranteed price, so we need the details that actually change the job. A phone photo of the piano and the staircase covers most of it.

FAQ

Wesley Chapel piano questions

When should I get it tuned after the move?

Give it a few weeks in the new house first. The move rarely shifts the tuning much on its own. The change in humidity is what does it, and a new build will take longer to settle than an older home.

We’re only moving the piano. Is that too small a job?

No. Piano-only moves are a regular part of our week, whether it’s across Wesley Chapel, down to New Tampa, or out to Zephyrhills or Land O’ Lakes.

Can the piano go to a storage unit?

Only a climate-controlled one. A standard unit along SR 54 or SR 56 gets well over 100 degrees inside in summer, which is hard on the soundboard and glue joints.

Will the crew scratch our floors or walls?

Runners go down along the path, the stair rail and door frames get padded, and the piano never rolls on its own casters. Walk the route with the crew lead before they start if there’s anything you’re worried about.

Can you move a piano from Wesley Chapel to another city?

Anywhere in Florida, yes. We’re not taking out-of-state moves right now.
